How does a concert become a place for experiencing social change? What role does “'closeness”' play for the concert? Closeness to other genres, to other art forms, to the listeners? Do we need more of this? If so, where and how? Does this create audience loyalty and attract new audiences?... Stegreif has found improvisation in particular to be a tool for community and breaking down boundaries and uses it to deepen closeness, activate the audience and establish a feedback channel to the orchestra. These and similar topics have been on the minds of many players in the concert market for some time now, and even more so with regard to the future of culture, funding issues and dwindling support in parts of society.
To mark the 10th anniversary of our ensemble, we are inviting our colleagues to an industry meeting entitled 'More Closeness? - a day of discourse on improvisation and community in concert' to share experiences and identify success factors for today and tomorrow together with you.
Moderated by journalist and presenter Andrea Thilo, the day offers a variety of formats: speed dating, keynote speeches, creative questions, discussions and more - flexibly organised to create space for exchange and inspiration. Prof Dr Constanze Wimmer (tbc - University of Art and Design Graz, former Rector of the Mozarteum University Salzburg), Justus Wille (fast forward classic), Franziska Ritter (1:1 CONCERTS) and other experts will be taking part.
Seating capacity is limited. We ask for binding registration at:
The programme is completely in German!
