Refractions: Workshop concert with students at HfMT HAMBURG

Ab 19.00 Uhr

07.02.2026

With Improvisations on Debussy, Stravinsky, Vitali and Poulenc

Over the course of a semester, students at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (HfMT) complete three two-day workshops with musicians from the Stegreif Orchestra. There is a particular focus on improvisation. The students are introduced to the topic in individual and group exercises in order to explore the boundaries of classical music practice together with the Stegreif musicians. The results of the ensemble work will be presented in this public workshop concert in the Mendelssohn-Saal of the HfMT Hamburg. The project is also the subject of an accompanying research project in musicology (Prof. Dr. Jutta Toelle).
